Welcoming The New Year

Igor and I went to the City of Chicago fireworks, and I have nothing but good to say about how everything was organized this time. We should have come earlier and watched “The Best of the Art on the Mart,” but I was not sure that the CTA would deliver as promised (it did!), so we decided to come later and saw only a little bit:

There were lots of people on the streets, but there were no jams. Lots of CTA security and police; the Riverwalk was closed, but the Upper Wacker was closed to cars, so people could walk, and the crowds were very well managed. Another great thing was that (as promised) the fireworks were launched from each of the bridges, starting from Franklin to Columbus, so the crowds were pretty evenly distributed along the River.

The Red Line ran every ten minutes, and we didn’t see any major human disruption, so I am going to take it as a good sign for better CTA in 2024 🙂
