Halloween For Myself

That was one of the few days for a very long time when I didn’t have any obligations after work: no volunteering, no visits to my mom, and nothing urgent to write about. And I had plans just for myself. The plan was:

  • Finally, visit the newly reopened Pret on Monroe

I should mention that Halloween was the coldest day of this fall so far. It was freeing and it was snowing for the good part of the day:

However, by the end of the workday, the snow stopped and the sun came out:

  • After Pret, I walked towards the Starbucks Reserve Roastery on North Michigan Avenue. I rarely walk in this direction these days, and I enjoyed every minute of that walk.
  • I know it is hard to believe, but I never properly visited Starbucks Roastery. The only time was when we tried to get in last holiday season with Anna’s family, and it was way too crowded. This time, I wanted to try one of the Starbucks seasonal cocktails, especially because it was the last day for one of them – Pumpkin spice martini.

I really liked the whole design and all the details, and the fact that it was not overcrowded, with plenty of seating.

And that was priceless 🙂
  • My last stop of the day was in Rogers Park – the haunted display on Damen. I read a lot about in the local social media, but it ended up being the least impressive thing of the day – everything was so creepy that I do not even want to post anything here.

Overall, though, it was a great day!
