This Week In Chicago

Although I arrived on Saturday and, technically speaking, could attend the Pride Parade, it was not on my mental list, so I ended up not going there. Instead, I tried to catch up with tons of little things and was petty successful with that.

Some Pride in Rogers Park:

Sunday was still more or less OK weather-wise, although it changed several times from sun to thunderstorm and back. By Tuesday, we were under the ashes from Canadian wildfires.

It was the day of the “Muti for Chicago” concert in Millennium Park, the last time Ricardo Muti conducting as a CSO Music director, so I was determined to go. Initially, I suggested my mom to come, but since the weather was as it was, and I was not sure how crowed it is going to be, I called off this idea.

It ended up being not that much crowded, and there were even places to sit on the chairs, but it was still way colder than it should have been, most likely because of all these ashes in the air.

Today, I worked from home because of a couple of appointments, and although the air quality index was still frightening, I decided to resume my lunch breaks on the beach.

It was s mixed experience. There are ashes in the water, and the flag on the beach is yellow, but it is still calming just to be on the shore and listen to the waves…
